Local favorite Nick the Greek is expanding its Bay Area footprint — gearing up to open a new location in Palo Alto, according to a recently submitted alcohol license application.

Coming to 322 University Avenue, the eatery will land near establishments such as Bevri, Ettan, and Ramen Nagi.

What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s co-owner, George Petroutsas, to inquire about the upcoming spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Nick the Greek, the restaurant provides an introduction on its Facebook page: “The founders of the Nick the Greek brand are first cousins who grew up working in their parent’s restaurants located in San Jose, California. Missing the wonderful flavors of the Greek street food, all three families decided to open restaurants.”

Some menu favorites include gyro bowls, greek froyo with baklava and honey, and loukoumades (which are similar to beignets.)

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
