Otherwise Brewing, an entirely gluten-free brewery based in the Bay Area, plans to open a brick-and-mortar taproom in North Beach, according to a recently submitted beer and wine application.
Taking over a space currently home to Church Key, a bar at 1402 Grant Avenue, the brewery will land near establishments such as Mo’s Grill, Sotto Mare, and Tony’s Pizza Napoletana.
What Now San Francisco reached out to Co-Owners Aaron Gervais and Stellar Cassidy to inquire about the expansion, but they were unable to provide additional information before publication.
The upcoming North Beach spot marks the continuation of an expansion effort that Otherwise began last year when it teamed up with Erik Anderson, the owner of the restaurant and taproom Barley to open a space at 1038 Polk Street.
For readers who are unfamiliar with Otherwise, in addition to manufacturing and selling “a wide range of small-batch brews,” the business is known for offering a gluten-free menu.
An opening date has not been announced yet, so follow Otherwise Brewing on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
