Palmetto Superfoods, a popular plant-based açaí and smoothie bowl brand, is set to open its fourth San Francisco location at 3251 20th Avenue inside the Stonestown Galleria.

While an exact opening date has not been confirmed, the company plans to welcome guests by the end of October 2025, CEO Charles Lee tells What Now San Francisco. This new location will offer Palmetto’s signature bowls, smoothies, and a variety of healthy options. This exciting expansion also includes plans for Palmetto’s 5th San Francisco store, located at 531 Bryant Street. This new spot will feature a lounge and rooftop space for special events, offering even more opportunities for customers to connect and enjoy the brand in a social setting.

The Stonestown Galleria store is part of Palmetto Superfoods’ broader Northern California expansion, which includes new locations in Old Town Los Gatos, where the brand took over the former Boba Guys space, City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon, Downtown Berkeley in collaboration with UC Berkeley, Downtown Fremont, Sacramento at The UV, and Downtown Santa Cruz in a former Starbucks space. The brand is also expanding to Downtown San Jose at Centerra, next to San Pedro Square.

“I have always been a big believer in an SF comeback, and so we have been planning these stores for some time,” Lee tells What Now SF. “[I] believe it’s going to pay off now with AI as the next tech gold rush and an amazing mayor in Daniel Lurie.”

Beyond Northern California, Palmetto has ambitious plans for growth across the U.S., including its first store outside California in Austin, Texas. The brand also has set its sights on Southern California, with a new Beverly Hills store in the works. The company is also eyeing Oahu, Hawaii, for a new location, continuing its national and regional expansion efforts.

Founded in 2019 by Charles Lee, Thaís Moreira, Amanda Moreira, and Hessam Shirmohammadi, Palmetto Superfoods has quickly grown from its original focus on serving authentic Brazilian açaí to becoming a nationwide brand. The company’s commitment to serving pure, high-quality açaí without added sugars or preservatives has made it a favorite in the Bay Area, with locations in San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Burlingame.

In addition to its customizable bowls, made with fresh ingredients like organic açaí, granola, fruits, and superfoods, Palmetto Superfoods will offer poke bowls, smoothies, and bubble tea at its Stonestown Galleria location. The new store will feature a diverse menu designed to cater to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences.

The Stonestown Galleria location marks another milestone in Palmetto’s ongoing expansion, reflecting the brand’s dedication to offering convenient, healthy food options to a growing number of communities across the U.S.Palmetto Superfoods Planning Several New Locations
