Piccino Sul Mare, an Italian-inspired California restaurant from the team behind Piccino and Piccino Presidio, is getting ready to open in Sausalito along the waterfront.

The upcoming restaurant marks the group’s fourth concept and is currently slated for a 2026 debut, according to the company’s website. The company’s newest location will move into a waterfront space in Marin County, with construction and design currently underway.

While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the team behind the concept has confirmed that Piccino Sul Mare will feature many of the same dishes and drinks that have defined its existing San Francisco locations. Guests can expect seasonal ingredients, locally sourced produce, and a mix of classic and modern Italian offerings.

Piccino was originally founded in 2006 as a small cafe in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood. Over the past 19 years, the brand has expanded to include a full-service restaurant, a cocktail bar, a separate coffee bar, and a new location in the Presidio. Each site remains focused on fresh, sustainable ingredients and community-driven hospitality.

According to the restaurant’s website, much of the produce used at Piccino is grown on the company’s farm in Healdsburg, Piccino Fields. The rest is sourced from regional farms and producers, with a commitment to sustainability and seasonality. Executive Chef Daniella Banchero leads the culinary team, supported by Beverage Director Tyler Canning and a seasoned leadership group.

The Sausalito location is expected to maintain the same culinary identity, offering a rotating menu of antipasti, pizza, house-made pasta, and a curated wine list. Located directly on the water, it will be the group’s first site outside of San Francisco and is likely to serve both locals and tourists seeking a refined, ingredient-focused dining experience.

Founders Margherita Sagan and Sheryl Rogat continue to lead Piccino’s expansion efforts, with Sagan bringing her Tuscan roots to the table and Rogat contributing decades of hospitality and culinary passion. The Sausalito project reinforces the company’s mission to deliver high-quality food in welcoming, community-centered spaces.
