According to the San Francisco Business Times, Red Bay Coffee is returning to the Ferry Building. Coming to Suite 46, the cafe will join existing tenants such as Arquet, Cholita Linda, and Epicurean Trader.
The business offers a statement on the transition on its Instagram page: “In October 2020, at the height of the Covid pandemic, we were invited to take over the old Peet’s Coffee location in the Ferry Building. At that time, the Ferry Building felt like a ghost town, but we believed in San Francisco, we believed in the Ferry Building, so we took a leap of faith… It has been a true honor to operate in one of the most iconic artisanal marketplaces in San Francisco. But if there’s one constant in business, it’s that everything changes.”
“We are excited to announce that we will be relocating our Ferry Building Coffee Shop to a new location within the Ferry Building… During this transition, we’ll be bringing our coffee van to the Ferry Building plaza to continue serving you.”
For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, Red Bay Coffee Roasters was founded in 2014 by Keba Konte, “a renowned artist and successful food entrepreneur with deep roots in the San Francisco Bay Area specialty coffee and hospitality industry,” according to the business website.
Between its cafes, stores, and coffee van, Red Bay currently operates seven locations in total across Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco.
“We’re thrilled to begin this next chapter of Red Bay Coffee at the Ferry Building,” Konte shares in the news release. He adds, “Our presence here has always been a dream come true — and now, it’s a dream renewed.”
An opening date has not been announced yet. Stay tuned for updates.
