Republic of Cake in Orinda will be closing its shop at the end of this month but don’t worry, the closure is only temporary. Please take note of Republic of Cake’s future address at 730 Camino Ramon in Danville. Owner Lindsay Pirkle tells us that she hopes to reopen from the Danville location this summer

The new digs include 1,304 square-feet of space that will enable Republic of Cake to expand its offerings, plus a few indoor and outdoor tables to enjoy it all. Pirkle wants to experiment with different types of pastries, plus grab-and-go sandwiches. The extra room will also allow Republic of Cake to host decorating parties and other fun events for local bakers and sweet tooths alike.

Republic of Cake is known for their scrumptious selection of classic and seasonal cupcakes, cookies, full-size cakes, and quiches. In 2017, Pirkle fulfilled her lifelong dream of owning a bakery when she inherited the business from her good friends and mentors, Chih-Chung Fang and Peter McNiff, who founded Republic of Cake in 2010.
