According to SF Eater, George Chen of China Live is planning to debut a new concept, Asia Live, at Santa Clara’s Westfield Valley Fair, a multi-purpose space “that will highlight not just food from Greater China, but also Southeast Asia, India, Korea, and Japan.”
Coming to 2855 Stevens Creek Boulevard, the concept will take over Suite 1891, a 12,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by iChina.
“I’ve seen too many people expand too quickly, and that’s why we waited so long to do it,” Chen tells Eater. He adds, “I think [Asia Live] being in proximity to the Bay Area, I can control the quality really well and change the offerings — and create some more excitement.”
On the menu, locals can expect to find pan-fried pork buns, Peking duck pockets, and sushi to name just a few items.
“We’re not trying to be all things to all people,” Chen tells Eater — “but I think because of my background from [former restaurant] Betelnut, we can execute it, and I think it’ll be good for people. It’s not a food court by any means.”
Asia Live is slated to open in Fall 2025.
