According to the San Francisco Business Times, the chef and restaurateur behind La Gastronomia di Porchetta in Fairfax plans to debut a shop in West Oakland called Fatto a Mano Alimentari.
Coming to Prescott Market at 1620-1630 18th Street, the eatery will take over a space formerly home to Prescott Meats and Delicatessen, alongside tenants such as Almanac Brewing, Fast Times Burgers, Pizzeria Violetta, and Woo Can Cook.
What Now San Francisco spoke briefly with the concept’s owner, Elena Fabbri; however, more information could not be gathered before publication.
Nevertheless, the Journal reports that the menu will offer plates such as stewed octopus with Swiss chard, pepper beef stew, and Tuscan sausage and beans.
For readers who are unfamiliar with Fabbri, the chef is originally from Tuscany. Before opening La Gastronomia in 2023, Fabbri operated a catering company that gained popularity due to her focaccia sandwiches made with porchetta; before that, she spent 15 years at Sausalito’s Osteria Divino.
“Oakland has become a true hotspot for cultural diversity, especially when it comes to food,” Fabbri said in a news release. “It’s been recognized as one of the best cities in the country for its dining scene, and that energy and creativity are what drew us to Prescott Market,” she continues.
Fatto a Mano Alimentari is slated to open in the fall. Follow What Now San Francisco on Facebook to stay up to date on the latest restaurant happenings in the Bay Area.
