According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the restaurateurs behind Redwood City’s Mazra are debuting a new eatery in San Bruno.

Zorek, a restaurant “devoted to borek, a flaky Turkish pastry,” will land at 799 El Camino Real, near establishments such as Araujo’s, Rolling Pin Donuts, and Seniore’s Pizza.

What Now San Francisco reached out to co-owners and brothers Jordan and Saif Makableh to inquire about their plans for the spot, but they could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the Chronicle reports that “Zorek will serve several kinds of crispy borek, stuffed with savory combinations like feta and spinach, za’atar and cheese or potato and onion. A sweet version will be filled with dates and tahini.”

“The cafe will also serve coffee drinks made with beans from San Francisco’s Grand Coffee, including specialty creations like cardamom espresso, as well as Turkish coffee,” the article continues.

Zorek is slated to open in February. Stay tuned for updates.
