According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the restaurateurs behind the Michelin-starred concept Sorrel are readying to debut a bakery in the Embarcadero.

Coming to the Ferry Building, taking over a space formerly home to Slanted Door, Parachute will land near establishments such as Cholita Linda, Fort Point Beer Company, and Señor Sisig.

“We’re excited to open our doors and be part of the Ferry Building’s next chapter,” the co-owners share in an announcement, the Journal reports. They add, “We love San Francisco — it’s a city that has shaped our careers and inspired so much of what we do.”

What Now San Francisco reached out to Parachute’s co-owner, Chef Alex Hong — who will run the business alongside Director of Operations Joel Wilkerson and Executive Pastry Chef Nasir Zainulabadin — to inquire about his plans for the spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the Journal reports that “it will be devoted to laminated pastries that highlight seasonal produce from the famed farmers market located steps outside its front doors, plus coffee, house-made jams and other confections.”

Parachute is slated to open in June. Stay tuned for updates.
