Ruby Lou’s Boujee Bites & Games, a new restaurant featuring cocktails and an arcade, is getting ready to open in Walnut Creek at 1501 N. Broadway.
Ruby Lou’s Boujee Bites & Games will move into the former home of Buon Vino, according to Beyond the Creek. Owner Megan Abraham Benshalom tells What Now San Francisco that the restaurant is aiming for an early December 2025 debut. Guests can expect a combination of casual food, family-friendly entertainment, and nightlife, with arcade games during the day and cocktails in the evening.
The concept embraces a “Family by day, fabulous by night” identity, designed to provide a playful, immersive atmosphere for all ages. The restaurant will feature nostalgic decor nodding to 1950s pinups, 1970s-inspired colors, and an Art Deco revival back bar in chartreuse green. Visitors will find a candy-garden-like environment intended to create a whimsical, memorable experience, from children’s birthday parties to adult social gatherings.
Menu offerings highlight casual, classic, and decadent dishes with elevated ingredients. Guests can expect hot dogs made from Snake River Farms wagyu, braised beef short rib nachos, mac and cheese sourced from Homeroom in Oakland, and a selection of sweets reminiscent of vintage bake sales. The food aims to appeal to both children and adults while complementing the restaurant’s interactive arcade and social space.
Ruby Lou’s is located in a central Walnut Creek corridor with high visibility and walkability, steps from retail, dining, and entertainment hubs. The hybrid dining and entertainment model reflects a growing trend toward experiential venues in the East Bay, blending culinary creativity with games, activities, and immersive decor.
The restaurant’s design and programming emphasize social connection and engagement. Guests are encouraged to interact with the space, each other, and the games, supporting a shared experience that balances casual dining with playful entertainment. The concept draws inspiration from the owner’s background in theater set design and fine dining, creating what she describes as a “Theater of dining” where decor, food, and activity combine to create lasting memories.
