Scott’s Chowder House has recently applied for a building permit to renovate existing retail space in Town & Country Village at 855 El Camino Real. The restaurant will occupy the space of the former Village Cheese House.

Proposed renovations include replacing kitchen equipment and repairing the finishes, plus a new coat of paint.

Scott’s Chowder House is co-owned by Steve MayerLaurent Manrique, and Sammy Reyes. The forthcoming Palo Alto location will be the Bay Area’s fourth, with two existing locations in San Francisco and one in San Jose.

Laurent Manrique, Co-Owner and Chef-Consultant shared with What Now San Francisco that the Palo Alto location will conceptually and aesthetically remain consistent with the San Jose Location. However, with fewer square feet, the Palo Alto location will offer more dishes and meals to go.

In addition to the restaurant’s awarded clam chowder and a present to-go menu that includes sandwiches and soups, Manrique mentions introducing to-go versions of seafood casserole, paella, and cioppino. He also shares that customers will be able to purchase market-style goods like homemade jarred tuna.

Manrique could not provide information about an estimated opening date due to the project being in the early stages of the permitting process.
