Sfizio, a Bay Area pop-up known for homemade pasta and affordable menu options, plans to open its first brick-and-mortar location. At 6099 Claremont Avenue in Oakland, previously home to Noodle Theory, the restaurant will land near Yimm Oakland, the juice shop Pressed, and the bar The Graduate.

Operating as a pop-up for the last two and a half years, owner Matt Solimano tells What Now San Francisco that he has been looking for a space since 2021. The move to Claremont Avenue was announced on Sfizio’s Instagram page in a post on November 10th. He predicts that the eatery will open in spring 2023.

Solimano shares that the restaurant will offer about 20 seats inside and 10 outside, counter service, and a “cozy neighborhood cafe vibe.” He says that Sfizio will continue to do catering and has pop-ups scheduled through December.

The restaurant is currently in the permitting phase, with an on-sale beer and wine license application pending since November 7th.
