According to a recently submitted alcohol license application, the Irvine-based fast-casual chain California Fish Grill is expanding to Concord.
Coming to 1975 Diamond Boulevard, Suite 115, the eatery will land near establishments such as a Benihana location, a Denny’s outpost, and Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar.
What Now San Francisco reached out to Mark Johnson, Chief Operations Officer at California Fish Grill, to learn more about the company’s expansion plans; however, additional information could not be gathered before publication.
Nevertheless, based on the company’s existing business model, San Jose locals can expect a fast-casual dining experience that revolves around grilled and fried fish plates, bowls, seafood tacos, and sandwiches.
For readers who are unfamiliar with California Fish Grill, the fast-casual seafood restaurant chain was founded in 1998 in Gardena. Today, it is headquartered in Newport Beach and operates over 58 locations across California, Arizona, and Nevada.
The concept prides itself on offering a variety of responsibly sourced seafood. A statement on its website says, “Our wild-caught fish are harvested through the least invasive means possible, to ensure the ecosystem is preserved and to avoid catching unwanted species. We insist on methods that limit untargeted bycatch.”
“For our wide range of farm-raised seafood, we commit to working with certified-sustainable fisheries as possible, and with those who share our dedication to responsibly sourced seafood,” the statement continues.
