The Square Pie Guys have something big heating up in San Francisco – but don’t worry, their deliciously crispy pizzas will remain the same size. Eater SF reported this week that the Detroit-style pizza purveyors are opening a third location at Ghirardelli Square this summer.
Construction will soon begin at 900 North Point St. in a waterfront space underneath McCormick & Schmick’s to create what will be the Square Pie Guy’s flagship restaurant. They will continue to serve their quarterly pizza menu and their popular chicken wings at this new location, which will also feature beer, wine and cocktails on tap.
The Square Pie Guys was founded in late 2018 by Danny Stoller and Marc Schechter. The business began as a pop-up on Divisadero, serving Detroit-style pizzas baked in a square pan which lends itself to a crispy, cheesy crust on the bottoms and sides.
They quickly gained popularity, especially following their celebrity pizza collaborations with the likes of Jeremy Lin and celebrity chef Samin Nosrat. Schechter tells Eater that there will certainly be new additions to the menu by the time this new location is ready.
Square Pie Guys currently has locations in SoMa and Oakland, where they are open for takeout and delivery. For more information check out squarepieguys.com.
