According to a recently published permit application, the international coffee giant Starbucks is planning to open a new outpost at 2200 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley — near eateries such as Eureka!, Jupiter, and Sliver Pizzeria.

“Starbucks Coffee would be going into an existing gross square foot area of 1,953 square feet. Their business is in the preparation and sales of non-alcoholic coffee and tea beverages and in the warming up of pre-packaged food like sandwiches, and baked goods. This includes sales of packaged food, coffee, tea, and accessories,” the filing states.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Chris Dage, the Regional Director of Operations, to find out details about the upcoming coffee shop, but he was not immediately available for comment.

How long renovations will take is still unclear — and an opening date hasn’t yet been announced — so stay tuned for additional updates.
