According to SF Eater, Alex Hong — the chef behind Michelin-starred eatery Sorrel — is debuting a new concept at the Ferry Building.

Taking over the former Slanted Door space at Ferry Building, #3, the restaurant and bakery will land near concepts such as Cholita Linda, Hog Island Oyster Co., and Mariposa Baking Company.

While the concept’s name hasn’t been announced yet, a recently shared press release describes it as a “large format, full-service restaurant offering a seasonal ingredient menu rooted in the bounty of the California coastline.”

Additionally, the eatery will boast an open kitchen, a bar with seating, outdoor seating, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a connected bakery that will “focus on laminated pastries.”

The concept is slated to open in early 2025. Stay tuned for updates.
