Numerous Santa Cruz wharf restaurants have temporarily shuttered due to the infrastructure’s recent collapse, according to ABC7 — including The Dolphin Restaurant.
What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s owner, Mark Gilbert, to inquire about his plans going forward, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the restaurant, it offers a brief introduction on its website: “The Dolphin Restaurant is a classic diner at the end of the Santa Cruz Wharf. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner a half-mile offshore in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.”
“A favorite of locals and visitors alike you can dine indoors, on the best patio on the Wharf, or you can order from our Walk Up/To-Go Window and then sit on a picnic table as you listen to the sea lions just below,” the statement continues.
Menu items range from French toast and omelets to a clam chowder bread bowl, crab cakes, and fish n’ chips.
