Toast Cafe & Grill, a San Jose-based eatery known for its California-style breakfast and lunch, is opening a second location. The new outpost will arrive at 6770 Bernal Avenue, Building 4, near the Pleasanton Gateway shopping center and eateries such as Panda Express, Plucked Chicken & Beer, and Starbucks.
The upcoming eatery will continue to serve the breakfast and lunch menu Toast Cafe & Grill has become known for in San Jose — offering eggs benedict, fluffy omelets, steak and eggs, club sandwiches, salads, and burgers, as well as Mexican options like carnitas and chilaquiles. Co-Owner Jimmy Tu tells What Now San Francisco that the Pleasanton outpost will also add dinner and new items to the menu to match.
The concept was founded by Alexander Garcia, Fidel Torres, Jimmy Tu, and Santos Aranda — who all met in the Bay Area restaurant industry — back in July 2018.
Tu tells What Now San Francisco that the location in Plesasanton will offer about 111 seats indoors and 100 seats outside, a semi-open kitchen, and a full bar.
While the San Jose location’s hours are only from 7 am to 3 pm, the upcoming eatery will be open until 10 or 11 pm.
Toast Cafe & Grill in Pleasanton is slated to open before winter 2023.
