Maura Passanisi of San Francisco’s High Treason, a “casual wine bar” in Inner Richmond, is opening a new bar and eatery in downtown Alameda. The concept will be called Mo’s Wine Bar and it’s coming to 1515 Park Street, near popular establishments like Gong Cha, Island Taqueria, and Ole’s Waffle Shop.
Passanisi tells What Now San Francisco that she envisions Mo’s as an approachable and casual space. The establishment will offer a selection of beer, wine, and sake sourced predominately from women winemakers and owners — listing Kristie Tacey of Tessier, Laura Catena of Bodega Catena Zapata, and Sicily-based winemaker Arianna Occhipinti of Occhipinti.
To eat, Mo’s will serve cheese and charcuterie platters alongside “savory small plates” like deviled eggs, gougères, and olive tapenade.
Passanisi is waiting on one more permit to be finalized, and just starting construction, but predicts that Mo’s Wine Bar will open in the spring of 2023.
