According to SFist, Upper Haight now has a new Northern Indian restaurant, Jalebi Street.
Located at 1466 Haight Street, the eatery is neighbored by establishments such as 1428 Haight Pati Cafe & Crepery, the Mexican eatery Caramba!, and Hippie Thai Street Food.
The Journal reports that while the restaurant has already opened, “they are still serving on paper plates and preparing for a proper opening later this month.”
On the menu, locals can expect to find snacks such as kachori chatt — a pastry filled with spicy peas, potatoes, or lentils — samosas, and dahi sev puri (potato and yogurt-stuffed puri puffs), as well as plates including dal tadka, Kashmiri kofta curry, and saag paneer.
What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s owners, Sam Bhamu and Bhawana Choudhary, to inquire about their plans for the restaurant’s grand opening, but they could not provide additional information before publication.
