Eclipse Foods, an Oakland-based vegan dairy company, is planning to move its headquarters from its current spot at 380 Washington Street in Oakland to an office and lab space at 1000 Atlantic Avenue #106 in Alameda.

According to a recent planning application, the space is nearly 10,000 square feet and intended for about 20 employees.

Self-proclaimed as the “sweet tooth for all food lovers of plant-based, vegan ice cream,” Eclipse was founded in 2019 by Aylon Steinhart of the think tank Good Food Institute and James Beard Award-nominated chef Thomas Bowman.

The business is known for vegan cheeses, spreads, and ice cream that comes in more than 20 flavors — including classics like cookie butter and mint chip, and chef specials such as Sweet Corn Sesame Fennel Brittle

Eclipse products can be purchased at Albertsons, Whole Foods, and Smashburger, as well as delivered by GoPuff or Gorillas.
