According to Mercury News, Zaytinya, a concept by Chef José Andrés — backed by José Andrés Group, the operator of well-known concepts such as San Laurel and Agua Viva — is gearing up to debut a new outpost in Palo Alto.
Coming to 660 Stanford Shopping Center, taking over a space formerly home to chef Michael Santoro’s Prima Donna and What If Syndicate’s Italian restaurant Etta, the restaurant will land near establishments such as Pacific Catch, Pressed Juicery, and The Melt.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the dining concept, its website offers a brief introduction: “Under the direction of James Beard Award-winning chef José Andrés, Zaytinya’s menu reflects the rich regional diversity of classical Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese cuisines.”
The statement continues, “Starting with authentic ingredients and traditional techniques, Zaytinya’s talented chefs create original and unexpected dishes that bring these regional cuisines to a level never before experienced. Often thought of as party food, the small plates style of dining encourages socializing – a drink, a little conversation, and a few mezze shared by friends and family.”
An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
