A recent project profile found in city public records suggests that Faherty is headed for the Marina District. The retail store is planned for 2110 Chestnut St., taking over a 2,085 square-foot space that was formerly Amour Vert.
Noting interior and exterior cosmetic changes – including new paint, wood floors, glass doors, and signage – our source’s timing suggests that Faherty’s second San Francisco brick-and-mortar could open in Q2 or Q3 of 2022. There is currently a Faherty store in Hayes Valley.
Faherty Brand was founded in 2013 by CEO Alex Faherty and his twin brother Mike, who is Chief Creative Officer. Leaving a career in finance and at Ralph Lauren, respectively, their goal as a family business is to “build a new American legacy by creating high-quality, sustainably-minded, feel-good favorites that will bring you joy to wear,” according to their website.
Faherty Brand is known for surf and beach-style clothing and accessories. 77-percent of materials used to make their items come from sustainable fibers such as organic cotton and recycled polyester, linen, and hemp. They’ve also eschewed the use of recycled poly packaging, vowing to be 90-percent plastic free by the end of 2021.
They maintain partnerships with Native artists who collaborate on their products, while supporting organizations such as A Second U, The Surfrider Foundation, and One Percent for the Planet.
