Meat Bro’s is a Halal butcher shop that is opening at 4556 Dublin Boulevard in East Bay. According to a lease signed in September, Meat Bro’s will be taking over a 1,472 square-foot retail space close to the Hacienda Crossings Shopping Center. Associates for owner Ragini Movva confirmed that the shop is currently being built out for an opening projected in early December.
Meat Bro’s will specialize in selling Halal meats, Halal being an Arabic word meaning “permissible.” According to Islamic law, certified Halal meat means that it does not come from a forbidden cut or animal.
Halal meats are most often prepared carefully by Muslim butchers. But often times when Halal meat is not accessible, some observant Muslims have considered Kosher an acceptable alternative.
Needless to say, Meat Bro’s will be a welcome inclusion when it comes to fresh Halal meat options throughout East Bay. The Muslim community and others who may require a Halal diet might just find their new favorite butcher shop in the city of Dublin.
