The Big Top is officially back on the Eastside—and if opening night was any indication, Seattle is in for something truly special.
On February 5, 2026, Cirque du Soleil premiered its newest touring production, ECHO, at Marymoor Park in Redmond. The two-month engagement runs through March 22, transforming the park into a glowing world of imagination, music, and gravity-defying artistry.
We were personally in attendance last night—and blown away doesn’t quite cover it. From the moment the lights dimmed, time seemed to dissolve. For two straight hours, we sat in awe as acrobats soared, projections shimmered, and the entire tent pulsed with cinematic energy. The evening flew by in a way only truly immersive live performance can accomplish. With each physics-defying moment, we were left asking, “how is that even possible?”
A Reimagined Big Top Experience
More than 2,500 attendees filled the tent for the Seattle premiere, including executives from the Seattle Sounders, Reign FC, and Seattle Storm, local media personalities (including yours truly), Eastside leaders, and celebrated chef J. Kenji López-Alt. Even before the show began, whimsical performers roamed the grounds, interacting with guests and setting a playful tone that felt distinctly Cirque.
Inside, the production design is unlike anything we’ve previously seen under the Big Top. Cutting-edge projections merge seamlessly with practical stagecraft, creating a living, breathing environment that shifts from intimate to epic in seconds. The lighting alone is worth the ticket—transforming the space into a kaleidoscope of color and motion.
The Story: Hope, Empathy & Reinvention
ECHO follows a curious young woman named FUTURE and her loyal companion, DOG, as they encounter a mysterious CUBE in a fantasy world that explores humanity’s relationship with animals and nature. Through their journey, the show underscores themes of change, empathy, and collective responsibility.
What makes ECHO stand out as Cirque’s 20th Big Top production is its emotional core. Yes, there are jaw-dropping feats—acrobatic sequences that elicit audible gasps from the crowd—but there is also a deeply resonant narrative about rebuilding and reimagining the world around us. It’s visually spectacular, but it’s also thoughtful.
Acrobatic Feats That Redefine Expectation
There are moments in ECHO where the laws of physics appear negotiable. Performers launch skyward in fluid, synchronized patterns; contortionists bend into impossible shapes; aerialists float as if untethered by gravity.
Yet it’s not just the difficulty of the acts that impresses—it’s the cohesion. Every sequence feels purposeful, woven tightly into the story and score. The live music swells at just the right moment. The projections morph as performers ascend. The production feels holistic, not episodic.
In a city known for both technological innovation and a thriving arts scene, ECHO feels right at home. It’s forward-thinking, visually ambitious, and emotionally grounded.

If opening night energy is any indication, this will be one of the season’s must-see cultural events. For Seattle audiences looking to be transported—to feel, gasp, laugh, and leave with a renewed sense of wonder—ECHO delivers. And trust us: when the final bow comes, you’ll be wishing the night didn’t end quite so soon.
