A Seattle pizzeria is slicing its way into Tacoma later this year.

Chicago’s Pizza Kitchen, owned by David Noble, is set to open near I-5 at the corner of 56th and M Street, according to a Facebook post.

“We’re growing. We will be opening a new, more visible location in Tacoma, designed to offer a better dine-in experience,” the post read.

The announcement follows the University Place location’s shift to a pick-up and delivery model with limited seating, a change effective at the start of the year. The team permanently closed the flagship location’s dining room, citing “the current economic climate” and a “decline in dine-in traffic over the past year.”

Nevertheless, the team shared on Facebook they look forward to serving the community in “new and exciting ways.”

True to its name, Chicago’s Pizza Kitchen is known for its Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, though all of its signature pies are also available in a thin-crust version.

Highlights include the “Six Corners Pizza” with mozzarella, red sauce, sausage, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms and green peppers; the “Suburbs Pizza” topped with chicken, bacon, onion, mozzarella and ranch dressing; and the “Hawaiian Vacation Pizza” featuring red sauce, mozzarella, pineapple, ham, bacon and onion.

Beyond the pizzas, the menu features calzones, “Sammiches & Dawgs” and pasta, including the house favorite smoked chicken penne.

The projected opening timeline remains unclear. Responding to a Facebook comment, the team said, “We don’t have an opening date yet, but hopefully very soon!”
