A Korean-style fried chicken spot is ramping up its expansion across the greater Seattle area.
Chicko Chicken is set to open a new location in Renton’s Benson Shopping Plaza at 10703 SE Carr Rd., led by Lindsey Kim.
“Chicko Chicken Renton is coming soon with fresh, made-to-order Korean fried chicken. Golden, juicy, and packed with flavor in every bite. Stay tuned!,” an Instagram post read.
Chicko Chicken serves chicken in bone-in, boneless or wing options, packed with bold flavors. Original is classic crispy fried chicken, Yangyeom offers a sweet‑spicy chili glaze, and Soy Garlic adds savory garlic notes. Spicy options include Buldak and extra-hot Haek Buldak, while Cheese Snow and Herb & Cheese provide lighter, powder-coated twists.
The shop imports its batter, marinades and sauces directly from South Korea. Each order is “fried-to-order” to ensure maximum freshness, flavor and crisp texture.
Diners can also mix flavors with a Half & Half order, choose a Chicko Meal with fries and a drink, and add sides like sweet potato fries, shake-seasoned fries or pickled radish.
The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board recently approved the restaurant’s liquor license, according to business filings.
Chicko Chicken originated in Canada and has expanded into Washington.
The brand now operates 42 locations across British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. Washington outposts include Kirkland, Burien and Federal Way, with a Mountlake Terrace location listed as “Coming Soon” on the website, though it’s unclear if it will be part of Kim’s portfolio.
An official opening date has not yet been announced. Visit the Chicko Chicken website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
