A Korean restaurant plans to open a new location on Mercer Island.

Danji Korean Cuisine, operated by Gyeongsoo Lim, Mi Young Bok and Sung Tae Kang, is set to open at 2707 78th Ave. SE, according to business filings.

The Mercer Island spot will be the restaurant’s second location, joining its flagship in Issaquah.

The menu features a wide range of authentic Korean dishes, from classic comfort foods to hearty entrees.

Appetizers include fried and steamed mandu dumplings, tteokbokki variations and pajeon pancakes; soups range from spicy kimchi jjigae to rich galbi and army stews. Noodle and rice options feature udon in several broths, bibim noodles and fried rice, while bibimbap and katsu plates offer traditional rice bowls.

Korean BBQ meats like bulgogi and LA galbi and seafood such as mackerel and stir‑fried squid anchor the mains, alongside crispy Korean fried chicken in multiple sauces. The menu also includes larger “Danji Special” hot pots and braised dishes to round out the selection.

To pair with the fare, the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board recently approved a liquor license for Danji Korean Cuisine.

An official opening date hasn’t been announced, but the restaurant’s Instagram bio reads: “coming soon!” Visit the website and Instagram for grand opening updates.
