Dossier Wine Collective is in search of a new location.
The winery was originally slated to join Boon Boona Coffee in the upcoming café space at the Overlook Walk in downtown Seattle, but decided to go in a different direction.
Co-owner Tim Lenihan told What Now Seattle they are exploring other spaces, but “nothing has been locked down yet.”
Dossier was founded by Lenihan and former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice with the goal of producing world-class wine.
“Dossier offers a modern approach to luxury wine inspired by the region’s great potential, incredible local talent, and distinctive terroir. We are pursuing world-class wines, built from the ground up, with the intent of creating an elevated and engaging experience for sophisticated wine enthusiasts,” the website reads.
According to King 5 News, Rice found a new passion for wine after retiring from the NFL, despite knowing little about it. He partnered with Lenihan, a longtime friend and real estate broker/developer originally from Yakima Valley.
Lenihan introduced Rice to a selection of Washington wines, and the two bonded over a shared appreciation that eventually led to the creation of Dossier.
Dossier wines are crafted using Washington-grown grapes, with winemaking led by Billo Naravane, owner and winemaker of Rasa Vineyards.
The winery currently operates two tasting rooms, in Woodinville and Walla Walla. The Woodinville location is open Wednesday and Thursday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Walla Walla location is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tastings at both locations are $35 per guest, with the fee refunded with a two-bottle purchase per person or a wine club sign-up.
What Now Seattle will continue to follow this story and share updates once a new location is confirmed.
