The butcher shop and restaurant Beast & Cleaver is opening an English pub and restaurant following scaling back last year.
Little Beast will be opening in the Ballard neighborhood in the coming months, per Little Beast’s official Instagram. This will be serving meat from Beast & Cleaver with other pub food and drinks. Currently, contractors and painters are working on the inside of the new location at 5107 Ballard Avenue NW.
“Classic English pub food done our way, using the best local WA ingredients, a selection of beers, cocktails and of course whole animal butchery at the heart of everything,” said the official announcement from owner Kevin Smith on Instagram.
Smith owns the current restaurant at 2362 NW 80th Street with his wife Polly Yakovich. They expanded the butcher shop inside Fair Isle Brewing in 2023, and later closed it down, according to an article from Eater Seattle. The restaurant has two menus: The Peasant menu which features prepared dishes like ewe tartare & spiced egg tart, smoked ham consomme and smoked blue oyster mushroom in roasted chicken jus. There is also The Beastro menu with small plates and steaks, pork chops, New York strips and drinks.
Beast & Cleaver is also famous for their sausage rolls, and this will be transferring to the new location along with meat pies, scotched eggs and dry aged meat. The new kitchen inside will be a location to prepare the meats.
