Dordlofva will soon open its doors in the Fremont area, located at 3500 Fremont Ave N, confirmed by its co-owner Tammy Linden.

“We do not have a current opening date in mind yet, as we are having to do construction work since it was not previously a restaurant prior to our ownership,” Linden told What Now Seattle.

“Dordlofva draws its name from Swedish heritage and the legacy of my husband’s great-grandfather. We will be shooting for a Scandinavian cottage ambiance where patrons can expect an array of offerings that cater to diverse tastes. We will offer a curated selection of coffees, exotic ice creams for adults, and classic ice cream favorites for kids. The coffee menu will have a full range of options, and we are also in the process of securing a beer and wine license to elevate the experience even further.”

Tammy expressed that the interior will offer limited seating, and there’s an application in the works for an outdoor sidewalk café. Adding to the convenience, a walk-up window will be available for those on the go. One of the highlights will be the cardamom cinnamon bun, a pastry that is common in Swedish culture. Looking ahead to the holiday season, the offerings will expand to include mulled wine and hot spiced wine, perfect for spreading warmth and cheer.

The management structure includes both husband and wife Tammy and Eric Linden as co-owners, with their son, Nikolas, taking the reins as the driving force behind the operation. With this, Dordlofva will continue a family legacy that spans four generations in Fremont.

The history of the space itself is woven into the fabric of the community. Originally purchased by the husband’s grandfather, a similar type of establishment once occupied the corner, boasting ice cream, candy, and a liquor license. An original letter approved for a liquor license, still in the Linden’s possession, bears testament to those bygone years. Despite changes over time, the building has witnessed multiple phases, from housing various merchants to evolving into a retail store prior to their takeover of the space, Tammy told What Now Seattle.
