A Seattle brewery is tapping into the SoDo neighborhood this May with a new expansion.

Gasworks Brewing, co-owned by Cody Cluff and head brewer Kyle Hansen, plans to open a new production facility and taproom at 4660 Ohio Ave., taking over the former Seattle Cider space, according to an Instagram post.

“We want to brew more beer, welcome more people, and grow with the demand of our customers. We have been searching for the right facility, and we are excited to add 15,000 square feet of production and taproom space,” Cluff said in the post.

The new space will feature a state-of-the-art 20-barrel brewhouse, along with 20, 40 and 60-barrel fermenters and brite tanks, marking an upgrade from the current 5-barrel system at the Lake Union outpost. It will give Gasworks Brewing the opportunity to start distribution.

The space also offers a 4,000-square-foot taproom with an outdoor patio, event space and a golf simulator.

Operations in Lake Union will continue, with the 5-barrel system dedicated to testing new beers, including a unique PB & Banana sour.

“We’re excited to have the opportunity to brew larger batches to hone in our consistency while using our 5bbl in a more experimental way,” Hansen said in the post.

Gasworks Brewing pours a balanced tap list centered on hop-forward IPAs, crisp lagers and fruit-driven sours.

Standouts include the Docksider Pilsner, a Czech-style beer with floral, lightly spicy notes and a citrus finish, and the Northlake Lager, a smooth helles with hints of honey and biscuit. Hazy IPAs like Dance Floor and Splash Landing lean juicy and tropical, while West Coast options such as Push Rewind deliver a more bitter, hop-forward profile. The lineup is rounded out by darker pours like Dim the Lights, a black IPA with roasted malt character, and rotating fruited sours, including Paloma and Strawberry Cheesecake, offering bright, dessert-like flavors.

The brewery’s food menu features salads, shareable bites and entrees such as burgers, chicken sandwiches, fish tacos and bowls.

The team has not announced an official opening date for the new location, but said “the buildout is not expected to take long” and have submitted the permits.
