Hospitality group Gin & Luck is scouting Capitol Hill to open what would be the group’s fourth Death & Co, The Seattle Times first reported. Co-Owner David Kaplan confirmed the news to What Now Seattle but instead of commenting, referred the publication to a spokesperson.
“As outlined in The Seattle Times article, we are still in the very early preliminary phases of this,” the spokesperson wrote in an email. “We’re currently exploring the market and hoping to find the right home in Capitol Hill…”
According to The Seattle Times’s story, the popular bar’s opening wouldn’t be until late 2024 or even early 2025.
Owned by Kaplan alongside Alex Day, Devon Tarby, and Ravi DeRossi, Death & Co bills itself in press materials as “one of the most significant and influential bars to emerge from the current craft cocktail revival.” Since its opening in 2006 in Manhattan’s East Village, Death & Co has become a must-visit destination for cocktail enthusiasts and is the winner of several major industry awards including America’s Best Cocktail Bar and World’s Best Cocktail Menu at Tales of the Cocktail.
According to its website, you can find current locations in New York City’s East Village, Denver’s River North neighborhood, and in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles.
