A new steakhouse is on its way to Seattle’s Pioneer Square.
Gordo Steak, owned by David Orozco, is set to open at 323 Occidental Ave. S.
Orozco is a self-taught chef, born near Los Angeles and raised in Mexico. He owns two other restaurants—Asadero locations in Kent and Ballard, specializing in Mexican prime cuts and Wagyu steak. Asadero began as a food stand in 2014 before expanding into brick-and-mortar restaurants, according to the Asadero website.
While an official opening date has not been announced, a sign reading “Gordo Steak, Carne Asada House, Coming Soon” has been posted in the window of the upcoming restaurant.
What Now Seattle reached out to Orozco regarding upcoming plans, however, he has not yet responded. This article may be updated.
Gordo Steak will join a handful of steak spots in the area. F.X. McRory’s Steak Chop & Oyster House is located directly on Occidental Avenue, with several others nearby in downtown Seattle.
Metropolitan Grill on Second Avenue is a longtime favorite, offering USDA Prime cuts, dry-aged steaks and tableside service. El Gaucho in Belltown delivers an upscale experience with bone-in ribeyes and a refined, old-school atmosphere. The Butcher’s Table in the Denny Triangle focuses on premium Wagyu and modern plating. All are within a short distance of Pioneer Square.
