According to a recent permit filing, HopTown Pizza will open another location in Sunnyside, located at 400 S 6th Street.
A representative of HopTown Pizza was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Seattle’s request.
While an official updated opening date has yet to be released, according to the company’s press release in 2022, “Building has begun and looks like we may be able to open late this year or by early 2023.”
At the heart of HopTown’s philosophy is the celebration of cooking around the community oven— described as an age-old practice that brings people together. Every wood-fired creation, cooked to perfection in the blazing heat of a 900-degree oven, pays homage to the old ways of crafting pizzas that have stood the test of time.
The founders, Lori and Carrie, both hail from farming backgrounds, describing Lori as a hop farmer’s daughter specifically. Nestled in the hop fields of the valley, their connection to homegrown ingredients runs deep. With HopTown, they aim to weave the rich tapestry of hometown culture into every aspect of their pizza-making process, offering a culinary experience that’s as authentic as flavorful.
What sets HopTown Pizza apart is the commitment to using fresh and local ingredients and the meticulous perfection of their crust recipe, honed over a decade. HopTown Pizza also has the option to bring its menu directly to you through its mobile cart, often making appearances at local events, according to the company website.
