According to a recent permit filing, Blackthorne Neighbourhood Pub will soon open in Kennewick at 201 W Kennewick Ave.

A representative of Blackthorne Neighbourhood Pub was not available for commentary upon What Now Seattle’s request at this time.

While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, Blackthorne’s website teases photos of the ongoing construction, stating that “the end is in sight,” with a portion of the site stating their soft opening will be sometime this year.

The story of Blackthorne is described in the framework of a fun storybook, stated to have started with “a boy and a girl entrusted with the keys to a castle” that would one day evolve into a cherished pub, offering a haven for camaraderie and good cheer.

The “castle,” or pub, though in need of substantial restoration, held promise and potential. With unwavering determination, the boy and the girl embarked on a quest that involved securing licenses and permits. They even embarked on a magical expedition to England, where they explored ancient pubs and castles, drawing inspiration from a rich history.

At Blackthorne, the cornerstone of their vision rests upon the concept of shared experiences. The pub’s mission is to craft an environment that beckons friends and families alike to gather, celebrate, and savor the finer moments in life.

While embracing a sense of modernity, Blackthorne remains deeply rooted in honoring history. This is reflected in their approach to the building itself—a canvas upon which they intend to imprint their unique identity while preserving the original architectural gems that define Historic Downtown Kennewick. Their endeavor lies in seamlessly integrating personal touches while harmoniously coexisting with the building’s inherent charm.

Blackthorne Neighbourhood Pub has been hard at work crafting a menu in addition to the construction. The offerings span a spectrum of culinary delights, from craft beers and neighborhood cocktails to an array of imported and local wines. Don’t worry, they haven’t forgotten Washington ciders or an option of fresh bites for communal sharing and/or private indulgence.

The pub has also joined hands in a partnership with a local vendor, Beyond Pickles. A recent culinary adventure featured a Scotch egg accompanied by umami onions and Russian dressing, according to the company website.
