Long Brothers Fine and Rare Books will soon open its first brick-and-mortar store in Pioneer Square at 400 Occidental Ave S, featuring a bar for patrons to enjoy literary pieces with a wide selection of beers and wines, according to its owner Jeffrey Long.
“The decision to venture into physical retail comes after robust online sales for the business over the last few years,” Long told What Now Seattle, “The bookstore itself will showcase a wide range of aesthetics, with old signage, historical artifacts, framed manuscripts, and more. The grand opening is tentatively scheduled for September 1st of this year.”
By opening a physical store, Long Brothers Fine and Rare Books aim to provide more opportunities and options for customers. The store will offer a more diverse array of works, including larger artifacts, more affordable options, and more artwork. Unlike the online catalog, which is more limited, the brick-and-mortar store will have a vast inventory of books.
The bar extension came from the advice from additional booksellers in homage to the new location’s proximity to sports stadiums. While there will be a specifically curated selection of wine and beer options to choose from, Long also looks forward to the potential of liquor options to hit the bar menu in the future.
