Ludi’s Restaurant and Lounge, a Filipino eatery in Seattle, is set to reopen soon in a new location after previously closing its doors due to leasing issues. The new location, just two blocks from the original at 200 Pike Street, will now be at 120 Stewart Street in the bustling Pike Place area, according to recent permit filings.
A representative of Ludi’s Restaurant and Lounge did not immediately return What Now Seattle’s request for comment.
Although an official opening date has not yet been announced, patrons will continue to see dishes crafted by Gregorio Rosas. The restaurant prides itself on offering all-day breakfast options in addition to traditional Filipino dishes, such as its well-known ube pancakes or silog.
If you’re unfamiliar, silog refers to a family of Filipino breakfast dishes consisting of some type of meat, garlic fried rice, and a fried egg. Ube is a purple yam from the Philippines with a sweet, nutty flavor. It’s often used in desserts in Filipino cuisines, such as cakes, ice creams, and pastries, and is boiled and mashed with condensed milk to create a creamy, sweet paste.
