Macrina Bakery is continuing their expansion in the Puget Sound region.

Seattle Met recently reported that Macrina Bakery is adding their seventh location on the Eastside at 3051 78th Avenue SE. This is in the Mercer Island neighborhood. The bakery will be going in the same plaza as The Crawlspace Gastropub.

There are currently locations in Aloha, Belltown, Maple Leaf, McGraw and Sodo. What Now Seattle previously reported in April 2023 that the Maple Leaf location was opening at 8505 Roosevelt Way NE.

Macrina has achieved much local and national recognition over the years, being voted best bakery in Seattle Weekly’s readers poll in 2006-2007, being the reader’s choice for best bakery in Seattle Magazine and getting on the list of the 100 best bakeries in America by Food & Wine Magazine.

The bakery has both a cafe menu and a bakery menu. The breakfast menu has the morning BLT, a cate sandwich with cornetto, avocado, tomato and egg, the brioche egg sandwich with ham, cheese and sweet dijon apple, just to name a few sandwiches. There are also bagels that can be ordered individually or packaged in packs of four.

When speaking with the founder of Macrina Leslie Mackie, she said the bakery is looking at early July as a time of opening depending on how construction goes.
