A Washington-based ice cream chain is steadily expanding its sweet presence across the Puget Sound region.

Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream is set to debut its first Kirkland location this spring, occupying a 1,400-square-foot space at 105 Central Way, The Puget Sound Business Journal reported.

The Kirkland location will be the brand’s 12th store, joining outposts in Wallingford, which was the first to open in 2008, as well as Queen Anne, Columbia City, Waterfront, Capitol Hill, University Village, Bellevue, West Seattle, Madrona, Redmond and Edmonds.

Molly Moon’s was founded with five core values guiding its daily operations, partnerships, community contributions and ice cream creation: be smart, be generous, be homemade, be joyful, and be brave, according to the website.

The menu features staple “always” flavors such as cookie dough, cookies and cream, honey lavender and iced latte. Seasonal offerings include marionberry pie, malva pudding cake, chocolate joy and vegan apple puff puff. Guests can customize their scoops with a wide variety of toppings, or opt for sundaes and ice cream cakes.

Ninety percent of the shop’s ingredients are sourced from the Pacific Northwest, with a focus on buying locally from farmers. The primary ingredient, hormone-free milk and cream, comes from a farm in Ferndale.

The brand also prioritizes community support, donating 1% of annual sales to local nonprofits with a focus on hunger relief through food bank partnerships. Each Molly Moon’s location collaborates with a neighborhood food bank, and the company also runs its own nonprofit, the Anna Banana Milk Fund.

The Kirkland outpost plans to debut in April. Visit the Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates on the grand opening.
