A Japanese tea spot in Tacoma is getting their second spot downtown in the coming months.

Jin Jin Matcha recently announced their second tea house will be downtown after opening in Tacoma at 1019 Pacific Avenue in 2023. The space was initially leased in March and it is expected to open this summer. It comes after a year of owner Sarah Oh searching for space downtown.

On their Instagram page, Jin Jin Matcha announced their new location is coming to downtown in the summertime. The official address has not been released, but it is described as being in a “tiny, yet charming atrium tucked between the tall buildings of downtown.”

Their business model is selling matcha teas made with sustainable ingredients from Shizuoka, Japan. Some of their teas advertised are the ceremonial grande matcha which is shade grown and hand-whisked, their matcha latte with milk and organic agave, jeju matcha with ingredients from South Korea and hojicha latte which has charcoal roasted green tea powder and sesame milk.

Their hours of operation in the Tacoma location are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. It isn’t known whether the new location will have the same hours.
