A popular dumpling house known for its handcrafted soup dumplings is expanding to Tacoma, with more locations planned. Supreme Dumplings will open at The Village at Tacoma Mall in fall 2025.

The restaurant specializes in Xiao Long Bao, which means “little dumplings in a basket.” This style of steamed dumplings cooked in bamboo baskets dates back more than a thousand years to China’s Song Dynasty, according to the company’s website. It has been perfected over time by different regions in China.

The menu features several varieties of Xiao Long Bao, including pork, pork and shrimp, Szechuan spice, crab and pork, black truffle and chicken, and chicken and steamed vegetable. They also offer pan-fried buns, appetizers, fried rice, noodles, soup, and green and spicy wontons, which will be available soon.

Supreme Dumplings currently has three locations: two in Washington, in Bellevue and Kirkland, and one in San Francisco. The company plans to open five more restaurants, including locations in Texas, Canada, and three more in Washington — South Lake Union, Redmond and Tacoma.

A grand opening date has not been announced. For updates, visit their website or follow them on Facebook.

This is not the only restaurant opening at the Tacoma mall. What Now Seattle reported a Thai restaurant is also scheduled to open this fall.
