According to a recent permit filing, Riverbend Bar & Grill aims to debut in Kent at 2019 W Meeker Street.
“Our goal opening date is May 1st. We are going for a sports bar-type atmosphere with a more casual golf vibe than a formal one. The golf course is called Riverbend, so we are kind of trying to align with the golf course, hence the name,” owner Corey Mason told What Now Seattle.
“We will have a full-service bar with craft cocktails, have about 16 beers on drafts, and will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There will also be some patio seating for customers. We are going to open slowly and will have a simple menu to begin, but will try to expand it later on down the line.”
“The city of Kent put this out for a request for a bid and we won! We are going to try to focus on intermediate and lower-level golfers, but also want to bring and welcome every type of customer into the space.”
According to an article from the Kent Reporter, “Half Lion Public House is done at the city-owned Riverbend Golf Complex in Kent, starting yet another search for a new operator. Half Lion closed in October 2023 and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2023 with the hope it could reopen the Kent location. But that’s not going to happen.”
