Owner June Park is bringing Seattle a Japanese cuisine that’s rarely known by most through his new concept, Izakaya, to be located at Mason & Main, 209 12th Ave S.
“When you think about pasta, you usually think of Italian. But I wanted to bring Japanese pasta with more fusion and a focus on the kitchen,” Park told What Now Seattle. After he experienced it in Japan, he knew it was something that he wanted to introduce to the States. “I want people to have a different kind of experience,” he said.
There will also be a full bar with Japanese fusion cocktails as well. Park’s plan is to incorporate mixed drinks that’s never been done before and have a rotating menu so his customers will have something new to try each time they visit.
Park is also the owner of Musashi’s Sushi with eight locations according to the website between California, Oregon, and Washington.
Mason & Main is a apartment complex in the Yesler Terrace neighborhood near Downtown offering many modern amenities. We reported on Graze Craze recently that will also be opening in the building once it is completed.
Permits on file with the city show that Izakaya is expected to cost $110,000 to complete in the 3000 square foot space. The expected opening time frame is the beginning of 2024.
