An arcade is on its way to White Center in King County.

According to White Center Now, Southgate Roller Rink owner Josh Rhoads is expanding his operations with the launch of Southgate Arcade at 9646 17th Ave . SW.

The new space will feature a retro game room filled with vintage video games and rare pinball machines, keeping in line with the roller rink’s signature ’80s and ’90s vibe.

Just in time for the summer heat, the arcade will include a full central AC system. It will also feature a larger private games and karaoke room with space for up to 30 guests—triple the capacity of the roller rink’s current 10-person room. The upgraded space will be available for all-ages or 21-plus events, supported by on-site bartending staff.

“We’re looking forward to keeping the vibe of the roller rink, while also providing a larger party space for guests,” Rhoads told the outlet.

A bar will also be open daily from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. through a separate entrance at 9645 16th Ave. SW.

What Now Seattle reached out to Southgate Arcade and Rhoads about the new venture and future plans, but has not yet received a response.

Southgate Arcade is set to open in July, with all-ages play on Fridays from 5 to 11 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The roller rink will remain in operation. For public skate session times, visit its website and follow its social media pages for updates on the arcade.
