The former E.I. Bar and Stage comedy venue in downtown Everett is set to reopen with new owners and a new name.
Former employees Ryan Housner and Haley Wise are opening Strange Ways at 2610 Colby Ave., reviving the space with a familiar mix of karaoke and comedy, according to Seen In Everett.
E.I. closed this summer after earning recognition from The Seattle Times as “Best Karaoke” in 2024 and “Best Comedy Club” in 2023, according to the website.
“After 6 years of weirdness, Everett Improv is closing. I am moving back to the east coast to be near my son. Thank you to everyone who has supported our mission of providing high level local entertainment. Hugs… Hi-fives… & Chest Bumps,” former owner and comedian Britney Barber shared via Facebook.
While the new owners haven’t announced an opening date, business filings show the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board recently approved a liquor license for Strange Ways.
What Now Seattle reached out to the Strange Ways team, however they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
