Co-Owner Kat Colley confirmed that The Kraken Bar & Lounge will soon vacate their current location and they are still looking for their next venue.
“I’d like people to know that we are still hoping to stay in our same neighborhood if possible,” Colley told What Now Seattle. “It’s not our current landlord that isn’t continuing the lease. The building is being purchased by new developers that would like the space to be vacant. Our current landlords (also developers) have been good to us. They’ve extended our lease several times and kept us in our space for as long as they could.”
Colley had no further comments at this time.
The Stranger previously reported “they only got official word on New Year’s Day that they would have to vacate in the next two months. Colley said they’d been looking for a new home for the bar for years, but it’s been a difficult task with the pandemic and skyrocketing prices.”
Friend of the owners, Jill Killen, graciously set up a GoFundMe for the bar to assist in relocation costs ensuring the money raised goes directly into the The Kraken Bar & Lounge’s account.
According to The Kraken Bar & Lounge’s Facebook page, their official closing date is March 4, 2023 and have a 10-day lineup leading up. Check their socials for the updated schedule.
