Tias Cafe is Brewing in Burien from The Salvadorean Bakery Sisters

Ana Castro and Aminta Elgin will serve baked goods, coffee and brunch at their new concept.

A latte excitement is brewing in Burien as a new cafe prepares to open its doors.

Ana Castro and Aminta Elgin, owners of The Salvadorean Bakery and Restaurant, are opening Tias Cafe at 13409 Ambaum Blvd., according to Seattle Met.

“Nestled in the heart of your city, Tias Cafe exudes warmth and welcomes guests with open arms,” the cafe’s website reads.

The cafe will serve a variety of baked goods, from cookies to cakes, alongside coffee and espresso drinks. Brunch will also be on the menu, with a selection of hearty sandwiches.

While an official opening date hasn’t been announced, a Facebook post reads: ‘We’re baking up something you won’t want to miss. Coming soon!’ For the latest updates, check the shop’s website and follow their social media channels.

Who are Ana Castro and Aminta Elgin?

Sisters Ana Castro and Aminta Elgin founded the Salvadorean Bakery and Restaurant in 1996, turning it into a family affair and bringing a taste of home from El Salvador, guided by the saying, “There is nothing better than the flavor of our land,” the restaurant’s website reads.

The duo has more than 28 years of experience offering customers Hispanic products from Mexico, Central America and South America. They take pride in serving festive, traditional dishes for Holy Week, Day of the Dead and Christmas.

Now, they are growing their brand with the debut of Tias Cafe.
