Urban Family Brewing Co. plans to open a new taproom along Seattle’s waterfront in 2026, the brewery announced on Facebook.

The second location will be located at 1022 Alaskan Way. The original outpost is in Ballard.

“We have been searching for a new location in Seattle that best fits the evolution of our small brewery, and it feels like we’ve finally found the spot,” owner Andrew “Andy” Gundel said in the post. “We love everything about craft beer and want to expand that enthusiasm to a whole new concept.”

The waterfront location will include features not found at the original taproom, including an in-house kitchen with a full food menu. The Ballard site currently relies on food trucks.

Guests can expect Urban Family’s signature lineup of beers—including sours, IPAs, malty ales and more—as well as sour beer slushies, craft cocktails, and local wines.

Nonalcoholic and gluten-free options will also be available, including Yonder Cider, EFESTĒ wine, Athletic Brewing Co. beer and water.

The 8,500-square-foot space will include a 4,000-square-foot interior and a 4,500-square-foot covered patio with waterfront views. The taproom will be family and pet-friendly, with designated areas for each.

“Urban Family Waterfront will be a comfortable space to take in all this city has to offer,” Gundel said. “We want to be a hub for everyone: people visiting Seattle for the first time, locals who need a spot to hang out before and after a game, commuters waiting for their next bus or ferry, and everybody in between.”
